Lifetime Humanitarians Arrive from Utah

After more than two years of planning, Youthlinc volunteers finally arrive

In 2019 an advance team from Youthlinc arrived in St. Thomas to do site visits on possible communities that they would like to work in.  For about 20 years, this non-profit organization, based in Salt Lake City, Utah, has been doing volunteer work in other parts of the world.  In countries like Kenya, Nigeria, Guatemala, and Peru, Youthlinc have worked in communities helping to refurbish clinics, teaching the local kids, and instructing adults in health care and small business development.

Despite its proximity to the United States, Youthlinc had never done any volunteer work in Jamacia.  With the support of the Foundation, Youthlinc will do two projects in St. Thomas, building stone monuments to the historic Cunha Cunha Pass Trail in Hayfield, and helping to construct a wall around the Spring Garden Primary School.

This is a collaboration welcomed by the Foundation as it continues to seek ways to provide opportunities for the Parish of St. Thomas.
