Entrepreneurship Awards
The mission of the Entrepreneurship Initiative is to encourage entrepreneurial activity in the Parish of St. Thomas by fostering an educational environment among participants that informs, supports, and inspires students, and by recognizing and awarding students who display the entrepreneurial spirit, with the goal of developing and promoting viable businesses that will employ individuals and lead to economic growth.
Award of $500,000*
(Two awards of $250,000 each)*
For St. Thomas Technical High School Graduates
Award Eligibility
Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- A graduate of St. Thomas Technical High School
- Attained a grade 1 or grade 2 in CSEC Mathematics
- Must have completed more than 50 hours of peer-tutoring
- Concept awards are for pre-revenue business – concept must be substantially developed but some work may still be needed before business is initiated
- Nominee must be serious about pursuing the business now or in the future
- Nominee must demonstrate entrepreneurial spirit
- For-profit only
- Awarded to current students and alumni within five years of graduating from the institution
